Compare direct booking sites
Hospitable is excellent automation software — and Haven connects natively to it. This page compares one feature: Hospitable Direct’s booking site versus Haven’s purpose-built direct booking platform.
Competitor facts checked
5.0on Capterra · 6 reviews, September 2026Hospitable is one of the best-reviewed automation platforms in short-term rentals — its guest messaging and channel management are widely praised, and Book With Haven integrates natively with it. Many hosts run both: Hospitable for operations, Haven as the branded booking front door.
Hospitable Direct is Hospitable’s direct-booking feature. It is not sold standalone: based on publicly available information as of October 2026, it is included with Hospitable’s Professional and Mogul plans (not the free Essentials or entry Host tiers), and adds a per-booking service fee on direct bookings. Properties in the US, UK, and Australia start on Direct Premium by default — 4% guest + 3% host, or 7% host-only — which is also where payment processing, guest verification, and damage protection live; Direct Basic is a 1% host fee with your own Stripe account and no included protection. In markets Stripe does not support, Direct Lite has no per-booking fee, but the host takes payment off-platform.
Book With Haven is a purpose-built direct booking site and guest experience platform. It is free to build — you pay only when you publish — with 0% booking commission on every plan, and includes a digital guidebook that captures guest emails, a built-in guest CRM with smart remarketing, free guest screening with up to $50,000 damage protection via Truvi, multi-jurisdiction taxes, and localized pages in up to 5 languages. If you already use Hospitable, Haven connects to it — keep your automation and add a branded booking site without changing plans.
A purpose-built booking site — no PMS subscription required.
A feature of the Hospitable PMS, included on Professional and Mogul plans; not sold on its own.
No per-booking commission on any plan (standard Stripe fees apply).
Direct Premium — the default in the US, UK, and Australia — is 4% guest + 3% host, or 7% host-only; Direct Basic adds a 1% host fee. Only Direct Lite, with payment taken off-platform in non-Stripe markets, has no per-booking fee.
Free to build for as long as you like; pay only when you publish.
14-day platform trial; Direct requires a paid Professional or Mogul subscription.
Digital guidebooks and a mobile stay guide — check-in, Wi-Fi, house rules, and local picks.
Guest portal covers house rules and booking info; no guidebook or local recommendations.
Guidebooks capture the booker’s and co-guests’ emails into a built-in CRM with smart remarketing.
Captures the booker’s email; marketing runs through Mailchimp/HubSpot integrations.
Screenings free on eligible bookings; optional up to $50,000 damage protection via Truvi at $8 per booked night, paid by the guest at checkout or by the host.
Included with Direct Premium (higher per-booking fees), with high coverage limits; not on Direct Basic.
Beautiful, design-forward branded pages built to convert — no theme picker. It just works.
Theme-and-preset customization (colors, logo, sections); third-party reviews note limits on fonts, layouts, and deeper customization.
Localized pages in up to 5 languages with per-language URLs and hreflang for structured indexing.
4 languages, AI-translated; guests cannot manually switch language.
Haven is not a unified inbox or OTA channel manager. It does natively two-way-sync with Hospitable (and with Guesty, Lodgify, Hostfully, OwnerRez, and Track), and any other PMS connects through Airbnb with the same inbound listing, pricing, calendar, and reservation data the PMS already publishes there. Haven bookings close dates through native APIs, or via iCal added in the PMS on the via-Airbnb path.
A core strength of the Hospitable platform: best-in-class messaging automation and channel management.
Create and sell your own experiences and add-ons with 0% Haven commission — quantities with real inventory, time slots and event seats, party-size pricing, deposits, and quote requests — sold pre-booking, at checkout, and in the guest guide. AI-assisted setup and import from any website included.
A genuinely good Upsells feature: early check-in, late check-out, and custom items sold at direct checkout and in the guest portal, with AI-timed offers — available for properties in the US, UK, and Australia. Finite inventory, event seats, party-size pricing, and host-quoted (unknown-cost) items are not documented.
Turnover cleans and upsell jobs become tasks automatically, offered to your own cleaners and chefs by SMS, WhatsApp, or email — Y/N/DONE replies, a no-login job page, photo proof, backup escalation, and Stripe payouts.
The Hospitable platform automates guest messaging and channel operations, but no text-message task offers to your own contacts or contractor payout workflow is documented.
One grounded assistant on every property site, multi-unit site, guidebook, and custom domain (private stay details only after booking). Every reply graded, gaps grouped into insights with cited chats, one-click Add context fixes it across all sites; hosts train it by chatting with their own sites.
AI-assisted guest messaging inside the reservation inbox is a genuine strength; a public-site chatbot for visitors deciding to book, per-reply grading, chat insights, or cross-property one-click fixes are not documented.
A blog on every site, plus Blog Autopilot: on a weekly to monthly schedule Haven runs a real research pass — the queries people search about your area, the pages that rank and what they miss — reads the organiser, park, venue, and tourism-board pages it will cite, writes only from those verified facts and your listing, has an editor check every claim, and drafts the post for your review or publishes it with a Sources list, sitemap entry, and IndexNow ping. Keeping your own website? Embed the same blog with a two-line widget.
No blog feature documented; Direct sites are a homepage and property pages with a fixed structure and navigation.
AI social reels built from your own listing photos, clips and guest reviews, with a storyboard you approve before anything is spent; narrated property stories read by natural ElevenLabs voices; and custom one-minute instrumental soundtracks composed from the property’s photos, likely guests, location and brand. Download-ready MP4s for Instagram, Facebook and Meta ads.
No built-in tool for turning listing photos into social reels with voiceover or generated music is documented.
Opt-in loyalty points on every direct booking, spendable at any of your listings and applied automatically at checkout; four automatic rewards emails (points ready, reminder, expiring soon, last call) with the bookings they bring back; optional inactivity expiry with guest protections; and one program across teammates’ or agency clients’ listings, funded so their payouts stay whole. Included on every plan.
No built-in guest loyalty or points program documented; repeat-guest offers run through discount codes.
A 100-point SEO and AI-search score for every site with a checklist sorted by points gained, live Google Search Console and Bing data, weekly checks that the crawlers behind Google, Bing and Copilot, ChatGPT search, Claude, and Perplexity can read the page, a site llms.txt, IndexNow, image and Vacation Rentals sitemaps, Foursquare listings, and visits from AI assistants tracked as their own channel.
Search-engine basics for the booking site; an SEO and AI-search scorecard with Search Console data and AI crawler checks is not documented.
Your listings appear in Haven’s plain-language AI stay search and in its open search API and MCP server for ChatGPT, Claude, and other assistants — each result links travelers to book direct with you, with no commission or guest fee.
A Google Vacation Rentals connection; a traveler-facing search catalog or AI-assistant search API is not documented.
The Haven Assistant, pinned to every page of your dashboard, changes your sites and settings from a plain-language request — pages, copy, design, photos, domains, listings, rates and calendar, upsells, guest CRM and remarketing, and email settings — and you approve each change before it ships; for anything it does not change directly, it walks you there step by step. Or connect ChatGPT or Claude through Haven’s MCP server and work from there.
A genuine strength: Hospitable runs an official, write-capable MCP server (launched April 2026) for ChatGPT, Claude, and other agents on Host, Professional, and Mogul plans.
