Haven uses a small set of specific terms in the host dashboard. This article is the authoritative reference — if other articles ever drift, this one is correct.
Haven has two kinds of records you create and edit, and two kinds of public booking pages those records can publish to. That's it. (Hotels and inns with interchangeable rooms can optionally add Room Types inside a Property Group — see below.)
A Property is the underlying record you edit — photos, amenities, pricing, calendar, fees, rules, taxes, integrations. A Property is the thing; a Site is where it's published. Properties live under Sites → Listing sites in your host dashboard.
A Property Group is a set of Properties bundled together so they can share content (description, photos, rental agreement, taxes, cancellation policy, etc.) and publish onto one branded booking page. A single Property can belong to one or more Property Groups. Property Groups live under Sites → Group sites in your host dashboard. When you have at least one group site, that row sits first in the Sites group (and reads Your Site when you have exactly one). When you have none yet, the row stays Group sites and sits under Listing sites.
A Room Type is an optional grouping inside a Property Group for interchangeable rooms — for example, eight identical King Suites in a boutique hotel. Rooms in a Room Type share content from a lead unit, appear as one card with pooled availability on the Multi-Unit Site, and Haven auto-assigns a free room at booking. Portfolio hosts with distinct properties never need Room Types; sites without them work exactly as before. See Room Types.
A Site is a Haven-hosted, direct-booking surface. Every public booking page Haven serves is a Site. There are two flavors:
The left sidebar has a collapsible Sites group. When you have at least one group site, Group sites sits at the top; when you have none, Listing sites leads and Group sites sits under it:
| Sidebar item | What you see | URL |
|---|---|---|
| Sites → Group sites | Cards for each Property Group's site | /host?tab=collections |
| Sites → Listing sites | Cards for each Property | /host?tab=listings |
The URLs still say
listingsandcollectionsfor backwards compatibility with old links. The sidebar labels are Sites → Group sites (or Your Site when you have exactly one) and Sites → Listing sites. Opening Sites lands on Group sites when you have at least one, and on Listing sites when you have none.
At the top of the host dashboard:
| If you read or hear… | It means… |
|---|---|
| "Listing" | Property (the underlying record) |
| "Edit listing" | The editor for a single Property |
| "Go to the Listings tab" | Sites → Listing sites (/host?tab=listings) |

/properties (https://bookwithhaven.com/properties). That page is a public gallery of live Haven-built booking websites — use it when you want to see sample sites. It is not a tab in your host dashboard. See Example Sites./partners (https://bookwithhaven.com/partners). That page is a directory of property managers, co-hosts, and agencies who run owners on Haven. It is not a tab in your host dashboard, and it is not the Haven studio for photographers, designers, and cleaners.New to Haven?
