There are two ways to share access in Haven, and they solve different problems:
Find team seats under Settings → Account & Profile → Team in the sidebar. If you have partner mode turned on, your linked clients (and what each costs you) live on their own Settings → Clients row, with Clients and Costs views.
A seat gives someone access to your whole account. Invite them from the Members card:
Invites that haven't been accepted appear under Pending invites, where you can copy the link again or Revoke it. Accepted members appear in the list below, where you can change a role or Remove them. Removal takes effect immediately, and you can always invite them back.
| Role | What they can do |
|---|---|
| Viewer | Read-only. They can see your properties, calendars, and bookings, but cannot change anything. |
| Manager | Can make changes across your account, and can invite and remove other members. |
| Owner | You. Not a role anyone can be given — it's whoever the Haven account belongs to. |
A Manager can handle billing; a Viewer can't. Managers can change your plan, add a payment method, and set up or open your Stripe payout account — everything you'd do yourself. Money still only moves your way: payouts land in the bank account on your Stripe, and anything they pay for goes on your account, never theirs. Two things stay yours alone: changing a member's role (including their own), and linking or unlinking another Haven account.
A Manager can also be paid directly for a listing you manage for them. Under Payouts → Who each property pays, point a listing at a Manager seat and its guest payments go straight to that teammate's own Stripe account — the homeowner whose place you manage. That teammate connects their own Stripe from Payouts → Your own payout account. An owner can connect more than one Stripe account on the Payouts tab, in the Your other Stripe accounts card, and choose which one each property pays into on the Who each property pays card. A property's stays and upsells still pay into one account. Teammates on a Manager seat and clients still connect Stripe under their own Haven login. If your loyalty program is on, a reward a guest redeems at that listing is charged to your card and paid to the teammate, so their payout still equals the full price (you can switch that off on the Loyalty Points tab).
A teammate on a Manager seat sees and can change your whole account. If the homeowner should see only their own place, make them a client instead (next section).
If you manage a home for someone else, you can make them an owner. The property stays in your account. Guests pay the owner's Stripe account once they have accepted and Stripe has verified them. Until then the property cannot take bookings, and you are not paid instead. You do not need to be a Haven partner, and you do not need a paid plan to send the invite. Taking bookings still needs your Haven plan, unless you set that owner to pay for their own Haven subscription on the Owners tab.
Assign a property to an owner
/host?tab=owners).Owners tab. It lists each owner and invite with where their payouts stand, resends or cancels invites, removes an owner, and sets what each owner sees. Portal settings sets what every owner sees and who pays Haven for their properties (your plan, unless you change it there).
Payouts keeps the breakdown: Who each property pays shows each property with who it pays (you, an owner, a teammate or another Stripe account of yours) and where it stands.
A Haven partner's clients are a different path: the listing can move into the client's account. An owner assigned here does not move, including if you later become a partner.
What a client does not get. A client's dashboard has no Integrations tab, and a client whose listings come through your PMS connection cannot connect a PMS of their own. Clients sign in on Haven and see Haven's own look. Charging a client fees through Haven, your own brand and your own address are part of the partner program, not this.
When each owner should be paid into their own Stripe, a Haven partner adds them as a client (Settings → Clients → Add a client). A host who is not a partner uses Set up owners on Payouts, then invites owners on the Owners tab: the property stays in their account. The owner signs in to their client portal, and the owner connects Stripe on their own client-portal login and manages that Haven account. The partner's seats cannot connect or change the client's Stripe, and cannot close the account. From the host dashboard, the managing host opens that account from the account menu at the upper left, at the top of the left sidebar, and then has that client's listings, calendar, sites, and marketing. In both accounts, those listings can sit on a multi-unit site and in marketing: a multi-unit site in the client's account, and a portfolio multi-unit site in the partner's account.
Accepting a seat gives you access to their account. It gives them nothing in return — no access to your account, and none of their properties are added to yours.
That distinction matters in the account picker, so the two relationships are listed separately:
Selecting either one switches your dashboard into that account. The difference is what rolls up: a client's listings appear on your Client listings tab, whereas an account you hold a seat on never does — you have to switch into it. If a colleague's listings aren't showing up on your business tabs, a seat is usually why, and the fix is to add them as a client under Settings → Clients.
Team seats share your account. A Haven partner who runs other owners' accounts uses an account link instead: each client keeps their own Haven account, linked to the partner's.
Add a client and billing coverage appear on partner accounts only. An account that is not a partner gets its clients one way: by assigning a listing from Payouts (see Clients: Paying a Homeowner Directly). Apart from that it sees nothing about clients or partners in its settings, unless it is already linked. Then Settings → Account & Profile → Team shows that link and nothing more:
An older invite to manage someone's account can only be accepted by a partner account. Anyone else who opens it is told to ask for a team seat instead.
An account link is whole-account by design for the person doing the managing: there's no way to link to just part of someone's portfolio, and they always act as a Manager, never an owner, so the account's billing and payout setup stay with its real owner. The other direction is not all-or-nothing: a Haven partner decides, section by section, what each of their clients can see and do in their own account (calendar, nightly prices, reservations, refunds, messages, payouts, the listing editor), for every client or one at a time. See Client settings in Partner Mode.
Either side can Unlink at any time, which cuts off access immediately.
Each Haven account has its own subscription — a linked client keeps theirs by default, so their listings never count toward yours.
When a partner adds a client, the invite includes a Cover their Haven billing toggle (on by default). With coverage on, the client's subscription moves onto the partner's bill the moment they accept, prorated. If the partner later ends coverage, the client keeps full service for 14 days and then needs to subscribe on their own.
| Arrangement | Whose properties | Who pays Haven |
|---|---|---|
| Team seat — someone works inside your account | Yours | You, as always. Seats don't change billing. |
| Team seat you hold — you work inside their account | Theirs | They do. Their account, their subscription. |
| Account link, no coverage — you manage their account | Theirs | They do. They keep their own subscription. |
| Account link with billing coverage | Theirs | You do. Their subscription is billed to your payment method. |
Roles also cap what an outside application can do on your account. When a team member connects an AI assistant or a partner integration, the connection can never do more than that person can. A Viewer who connects ChatGPT or Claude gets a read-only connection — the change permissions are dropped and the consent screen names each one — and a Viewer cannot disconnect an application either. Roles are re-checked on every request, so changing someone to Viewer narrows what they connected without anyone reconnecting it.
Review and remove connections on Connected apps; the setup path for assistants is in Connect Haven to ChatGPT or Claude.
