AI credits pay for the AI work in Haven that costs real compute each time it runs: video clips, photo enhancements, AI-made pictures, blog images, brand rounds, reel builds, voice recordings, custom soundtracks, campaign drafts, blog posts, AI writing, and the assistant's working turns. Every one of these shows its price in credits before you run it, nothing is charged without that click, and credits you buy never expire.
Everything else in Haven stays included in your plan: the direct booking site, the guest portal and guidebook, your listing import (and its free import clip), translations, help and support answers, and all the background work Haven runs for itself. Those never use your credits.
Open Settings → Subscription (/host?tab=billing#ai-credits). The AI credits card
shows your balance, what it buys at today's prices ("480 credits: 24 video clips, or
96 photo edits, or 6 brand rounds, or 3 new reels"), your monthly credits and how
many are left this month, the auto-reload switch, Add credits and History.
The small coin mark beside a button anywhere in the dashboard is the same number:
hover or tap it to see what you would have left.
The card also shows your pace — roughly how many credits a day you have used over the last 30 days, and how long your current credits last at that pace. The Add credits amounts say the same thing per tier ("Lasts about 4 months at your pace"), so you can size a top-up to how you actually use AI.
What credits cost on the card lists every line by group. The numbers below are the launch rates; the card is always the current price.
| What | Credits |
|---|---|
| Video clip | 20 per clip |
| Clip enhance pass | 5 |
| Photo upscale | 2 |
| Photo restore, twilight conversion, extend | 5 per photo |
| AI-made picture | 5 |
| Blog image (one generated option) | 5 per image |
| Email header artwork | 8 |
| Logo run | 15 |
| Brand directions round | 80 (your first is free) |
| Hero lockups | 20 |
| Reel build | 30 |
| Voice recording | 5 |
| Custom soundtrack (one minute) | 25 |
| Campaign draft | 10 |
| Broadcast AI draft | 3 |
| Blog Autopilot post | 30 |
| AI writing action (a rewrite, an FAQ set, SEO text) | 1 |
| Guest AI reply | 1 per reply |
| Assistant working turn | 1+, from measured cost |
Guest AI replies and assistant working turns are metered: priced from what the turn actually cost, at least 1 credit, and drawn from your monthly credits before your wallet. A line marked Included shows no coin mark anywhere and can never run you out of credits.
Every AI button in Haven carries the same small animated orb. The orb tells you a button is AI; the coin mark and price beside it tell you what it costs, before anything runs. Credits apply only when you create something new. Work already on your account is not charged: videos, photos, logos, and writing created before this update stay as they are. Haven's own work for you — importing your listing, help and support answers, and the background work Haven runs for itself — never uses your credits and shows no price.
A reel you make with Showcase my property or Feature a review never spends credits just by being made or approved (the free reel maker's reel is the exception; see below). Every photo scene plays as a still with a slow camera move — free — and approving the storyboard is free too. Turning scenes into real AI clips is a separate step: the Ready to convert to video? strip in the reel editor (or a scene's own orb) shows the price in credits and converts only when you click.
In the Reel Studio (Tell a story), Approve and build is the spend: the build, plus the voiceover when the reel is read aloud, priced beside the button. Clips are your choice there too. The setup step asks for Stills (free) or AI video (priced per scene) before Haven plans, each photo scene on the plan card says still or AI clip (click the chip to switch one), and once the reel is built its Photos card turns any stills into video, showing the price before it runs.
The free reel maker is the one reel that starts as video. Before you have an account, Haven films every photo scene as an AI clip and records a voiceover for it, at Haven's expense. When you claim the reel with your account, those clips and the voice are paid from your credits at their usual price: 20 credits per clip (25 with its photo enhance) and 5 for the voice. Only clips that were actually made are charged; a scene that stayed a photo is not. Your monthly credits pay first, then your welcome credits, and your balance never goes below zero: whatever your credits cannot cover is on Haven, and History marks those lines (on Haven). A scene still being filmed when you claim is charged when it lands.
Every month you get 10 credits for every $1 you actually pay Haven that month — your plan, extra listings and add-ons all count, after any discount. On an annual plan it is a twelfth of the yearly price (a $768/year plan counts as $64 a month, so 640 credits). A Free or fully discounted account gets 25 credits a month to work with. Monthly credits refresh on the 1st, are spent before the credits you bought, and do not carry over — the Billing card shows how many are left this month. Every AI line draws from them first, from a video clip to a guest reply.
| Plan | Welcome credits (once) | Bonus on every top-up |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 100 | — |
| Starter | 300 | +5% |
| Growth | 600 | +10% |
| Pro | 1,200 | +15% |
Accounts that were already hosting on Haven when credits launched (October 2026), and had signed in since July 2026, received a one-time thank-you grant: at least 1,000 credits on Free, 2,000 on Starter, 3,000 on Growth and 5,000 on Pro — and more if your own AI usage before the launch ran faster than that, so the grant covers at least six months of your established pace. It appears in History as "Thank-you credits" and, like all credits in your wallet, never expires. Accounts with no sign-in since July 2026 keep their plan's welcome credits instead; their History shows the adjustment.
Add credits on the Billing card opens Stripe Checkout with four amounts. Bigger amounts carry a bonus of their own, and your plan's bonus is added on top, up to 20% combined.
| You pay | Free | Starter | Growth | Pro |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $10 | 200 | 210 | 220 | 230 |
| $25 | 500 | 525 | 550 | 575 |
| $50 | 1,050 | 1,100 | 1,150 | 1,200 |
| $100 | 2,200 | 2,300 | 2,400 | 2,400 |
Credits arrive the moment the payment succeeds, and you get a receipt by email. If you have no card on file yet, Checkout saves the one you pay with so it also serves anything else Haven sells outside the plan (domains, mailboxes, print).
The checkout box Reload automatically is pre-checked with its terms shown: when your balance drops below a threshold (100 credits unless you change it), your saved card is charged the amount you chose and the credits are added at your plan's bonus. You can switch it off, or change the threshold and amount, on the Billing card at any time. If a charge is declined, auto-reload turns itself off, you get an email, and the card shows why until you turn it back on.
If something you start costs more than you have, nothing runs and nothing is charged. A dialog tells you what you tried, what it costs, your balance and the shortfall, with Add credits right there (and the plan picker, for a Free host). The assistant never stops answering: when credits are empty it still looks things up and explains, and tells you a change will wait until credits are added.
If a paid job fails on Haven's side, its credits are returned to your wallet automatically and the refund appears in History.
Wherever a choice reuses something you already have, it carries a green Saves credits mark — for example Videos you already have when you feature a review, and Fewest credits on the Feature a review reel type. The choice beside it that makes something new shows its price in credits, so you can see the difference before you pick.
Haven also reuses on its own. When a reel's scenes are converted to video (Convert to video, or one scene's video button), any photo that was already turned into a clip — at import, or for an earlier reel — switches to that clip instead of a new one being made. Approving a storyboard adopts those existing clips too, free. Only photos with no clip are charged, and the message after you click says how many scenes reused a clip.
History on the Billing card lists every change to your balance by month: what was spent, where (the listing or project), who did it, what was added and what you paid. A CSV download covers the month shown.
Partners: your own wallet is on Partner → Billing, and the client costs table shows the credits your team used in each client's account alongside what you funded.
Some AI work runs on its own once you switch it on. Settings → Account & Profile → AI assistant → AI automations lists every one with what it does and what a run costs, and none runs until you switch it on:
Automations that already had a switch of their own (Blog Autopilot, guest AI replies, smart retargeting, guest memory, translation) are turned on where they always were; the card links you there.
