The header is the sticky navigation bar across the top of every page; the intro reveal is the optional animation that plays once when a guest first lands. Both, along with your logos and brand colors, live on the Brand tab.
Where: Property editor → Layout tab → Home → right panel → Brand. The panel opens on Hero, so click Brand in its top tab strip. On collection sites the same controls are under the multi-unit site editor's Page → Home → Brand (plus a Layout section for how properties are arranged).
A Transparent header is fully see-through over the photo or video — it does not add a dark fade. Use Gradient if you want a dark wash at the top so white tabs stay readable. Text color (under Header expanded) pins the tabs, wordmark, and matched logo to White, Ink, a brand color, or any hex; Auto (the default) stays white over a full-bleed photo or video and ink on a light bar.
The header preset controls where the logo and tabs sit and whether the bar is transparent over the hero. Two further controls decide what the bar looks like while it's over the hero (expanded) and after guests scroll (collapsed). Header (expanded) also shows your logos in a looping preview — the primary logo over the hero, settling into the secondary logo as guests scroll — with an Edit logos link. Both logos, and their colors, are set in one place: Logos.
Book now button pins a call-to-action to the right of the bar on every page of the site. It takes the same settings as any other Haven button — a label, a brand style (primary or secondary, solid or outline), and a typed destination: your booking search, the public guest guidebook, your Home view, another tab, a section further down the page, or an external web address. The guidebook link skips the email signup so website visitors can browse; check-in codes stay hidden, and the guidebook only opens once you're on a paid plan. On a collection site you pick which listing's guidebook to open. New sites start with the button on, pointing at your Home view; turn it off here if you don't want one. If you pick a destination that isn't filled in yet the button simply stays hidden rather than linking nowhere.
Book now keeps your brand color over a photo. When the header is transparent over a dark hero, a solid primary button stays filled with your primary color. That is the default for every site. If a dark primary disappears into the photo, turn off Brand colors → Keep brand color on buttons over photos (under your Primary color) to switch those buttons to a white pill with your primary color as its text. It applies site-wide: the Book now button, photo story sections, and page heroes. A solid secondary button always keeps its color, so you don't need the setting for that.
The button keeps your color. When white lettering on that color would be hard to read, Haven switches the lettering to dark ink. The fill does not change.

| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Classic (preset) | Solid white bar, logo left, tabs centered. |
| Split tabs (preset) | Transparent bar with the logo centered and tabs split to either side. |
| Minimal rail (preset) | Thin transparent bar, logo left, links pinned right. |
| Editorial (preset) | Tall solid bar that collapses on scroll, logo left, tabs centered. Pairs with collage heroes. |
| Transparent (surface) | Header background — Stays fully see-through as guests scroll — text floats on top. |
| Frosted (surface) | Header background — A translucent, blurred bar that hints at the content behind it. |
| Solid (surface) | Header background — A clean, opaque bar (the classic Haven look). |
| Gradient (surface) | Header background — A dark gradient that starts solid at the top and fades into the hero — keeps white text legible with no hard bar edge. |
| Small (logo-size) | Expanded header size — Compact mark with a slim header bar. |
| Medium (logo-size) | Expanded header size — Balanced hero mark (the default). |
| Large (logo-size) | Expanded header size — Bold mark with a taller header bar. |
| Extra large (logo-size) | Expanded header size — Statement mark with a tall, dramatic header. |
| Standard (logo-fit) | Logo size in the header — A compact mark that sits inside the bar with air around it. |
| Fill the bar (logo-fit) | Logo size in the header — The logo grows to the height of the bar, so a wordmark reads at full size. |
| Auto (text-color) | Header text color — White over photos, ink on a light bar — stays readable as the surface changes. |
| White (text-color) | Header text color — Always white. |
| Ink (text-color) | Header text color — Always dark ink. |
| Primary (text-color) | Header text color — Your primary brand color (Haven navy when unset). |
| Secondary (text-color) | Header text color — Your secondary brand color (Haven gold when unset). |
| You want… | Change |
|---|---|
| The bar not to hide the top of the hero photo | A transparent preset (Minimal rail, Split tabs, or Editorial) with Header (expanded) → Background → Transparent. |
| White tab text to stay readable after scrolling | Collapsed header → Background → Gradient or Frosted instead of Transparent. |
| A bigger logo | Expanded header size → Large / Extra large (the bar grows to fit the mark, then collapses on scroll). |
| A full logo over the hero and a compact one after | Logos — add a Primary logo and a Secondary logo, or Generate both logos. With one logo, it shrinks to fit the small header. |
| The logo to match the tab color | Logos → Logo color → Match text color. Each logo has its own setting. |
| Tabs or the logo too dark over a photo or video | Header (expanded) → Text color — Auto (white over the image) or pick White / a brand color / any hex. Background → Gradient if you also want a dark fade. |
| Tabs centered vs. pinned right | Classic or Split tabs (centered) vs. Minimal rail (right). |
| A phone number or short note pinned in the header | Header info item — digits render as a tap-to-call link. |
| A thin line under the transparent bar | Hairline divider on. |
| Fewer tabs in the header (collections) | Show tabs in header off — guests use the menu instead. |
| A different order, or different dropdowns | Drag the items in the preview's header. See Arrange the header menu below. |
| A booking button in every header | Book now button on, then pick a label, a destination, and a brand style. Leave the label blank for the translated “Book now”. |
| The Book now button turns white over the photo | Brand colors → Keep brand color on buttons over photos is on by default (under Primary color). If it was turned off, turn it back on so solid primary buttons keep your color over photos and dark headers. |
| A different header on phones than on desktop | Advanced → Use a different header on phones, at the bottom of Header style. See the next section. |
Where (property site): Property editor → Layout tab → the header in the preview Where (collection site): Multi-unit site editor → Layout tab → the header in the preview
You arrange the menu in the preview itself, on the desktop frame:
It saves as you drop. Press Esc while dragging to cancel.
Pages (your site tabs) go in other pages' menus. On a property site the sections of your Home page (About, Photos, Amenities, Local Guide, FAQs, Discounts, Store and so on) go in The Place, in Offers, or under another section. A page cannot go in a section menu, and a section cannot go in a page menu. Menus go one level deep, so an item that already has a menu cannot go inside another.
Some things stay where they are: Home and Contact on a collection site, the header info item, Other stays, and the Book now button. More is automatic. It holds whatever does not fit the width of the bar, and items leave it when there is room.
Until you arrange it, a property site lays its header out for you: with tab pages, the sections tuck into The Place; without them, the main sections are their own items beside The Place and Offers. Once you arrange it, the header keeps your arrangement at every screen width. A section you add later joins The Place (or Offers, for Discounts and Store), and a new page follows your last page. To go back, open Header style and choose Arrange your menu → Reset to automatic layout.
Other stays lists the multi-unit sites this listing belongs to. To change that list, add or remove the listing in each site's editor.
A header that suits a wide screen is often wrong on a phone. A tall transparent bar with a large centered logo takes up the top of a small screen, and white menu text can get lost over a busy photo. Advanced → Use a different header on phones, at the bottom of the Header style section, gives phones their own header.
Turn it on and the mobile header starts as a copy of your main header, so nothing changes on phones until you change something. From there you can pick a different header style, size, background and surface color (before guests scroll and once the bar pins), hairline divider and text color. For a compact frosted bar on phones, pick Minimal rail, set Size to Small, and set both backgrounds to Frosted. Each change switches the editor preview to the phone frame so you can see it.
Phones are screens narrower than a tablet. Tablets and desktop keep your main header. On phones the tabs always live in the menu and the menu button sits on the left, so the four styles differ by where the logo sits and how the bar behaves as guests scroll. Your logo, the Book now button, the header info item and the menu are shared by both headers. To hide the logo on phones, use Logos → Hide header logo on mobile only.
Copy the desktop header resets the mobile header to match your main one. Turning the setting off keeps your mobile setup, so turning it back on restores it.

A site can have two logos, and the Logos panel is where you add, replace, generate and remove both. A looping preview at the top shows them in your header, on your header color.
| Logo | What it is | Where guests see it |
|---|---|---|
| Primary logo | Your full logo — usually a picture with your name, and a tagline if you like. | Large in the header while it sits over the hero. |
| Secondary logo | A compact version — the picture alone, or the picture with your initials. | In the small header once guests scroll, where the full logo would be too small. |
Logo size in the header sets how much of the header bar your logo fills: Standard (the default) keeps a compact mark inside the bar; Fill the bar makes the mark as tall as the bar allows, the way a company site shows its logo. It sits in Header style, under the header presets, and applies to every preset including Classic.
The secondary logo is optional. With only a primary logo, that logo shrinks to fit the small header. Add the primary logo first; the secondary one is its companion. Removing the secondary logo leaves the primary doing both jobs again.
Upload (or Library) opens a preview for that logo: remove a solid background, see the result on your header beside the other logo, then save. Replace, download and remove sit under each logo.
Generate both logos designs a matched pair in one run, so the two share one picture and one typeface:
| Style | Primary logo | Secondary logo |
|---|---|---|
| Icon + name (the default) | The picture with your name | The picture with your initials, or the picture alone |
| Name only | Your name in type | Your initials |
| Icon only | The picture | None — one mark does both jobs |
Type the Name, an optional Tagline, and the Initials (filled in from your name; change them if they are not the letters you use). Each option shows both logos animating in your header. Pick one, switch the secondary logo between Icon + initials and Icon only, check the colors (they change on both logos together), then Use these logos. Generating takes a couple of minutes and keeps going if you close the window; the button tells you when your logos are ready.
Generated logos come in your brand colors and stay tied to them. Their main color follows your primary brand color and their second color follows your accent (secondary) color, so when you change your brand colors under Brand colors — or on a brand in Grow your brand → Brand — the logos repaint themselves to match, on every site that shows them. A logo made before you chose brand colors keeps its own colors until you pick some.
You can change a logo's colors at any time without generating it again: click the palette button under the logo in Logos to open Logo colors. Pick one of the logo's colors (or All for the whole mark), then:
| Choice | What the color does |
|---|---|
| Brand / Accent (link icon) | Follows that brand color — changes when your brand colors change. |
| Original | Goes back to the color the logo was drawn in. |
| Ink, Black, White, Custom | Stays that exact color, whatever your brand colors do. |
Both logos of a generated pair change together. A logo that follows your brand colors shows Brand colors with a link icon beside its name in Logos. Logos you upload keep their own colors, but you can open Logo colors on them too and tie a color to your brand.
Logo color (Full color or Match text color) is a separate, per-logo setting. A logo you upload or generate stays Full color, including during onboarding. Match text color is optional — it fills the logo's shape with the same ink or white as the header tabs so it stays readable over the hero. Best with a transparent-background PNG.
On the Classic header, which stays one size, guests see the secondary logo (or your only logo). Pick Minimal rail, Split tabs or Editorial to open with the primary logo.
Where (property site): Property editor → Layout tab → Home → right panel → Brand → Intro reveal (expand) Where (collection site): Multi-unit site editor → Layout tab → Home → right panel → Hero → Intro reveal (expand)
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| None | No opening animation — the page loads straight to the hero. |
| Curtain | A branded panel parts down the middle to reveal your hero. |
| Logo reveal | Your logo holds on a branded field, then fades to the hero. |
| Letterbox | Cinematic bars retract from the top and bottom. |
| Fade from black | The hero fades in from a solid black screen. |
| Lens | A circular aperture opens from the center to reveal your hero. |
| Focus in | The hero sharpens into focus from a soft frosted blur. |
| Default (panel) | Intro panel color: black. |
| Primary (panel) | Intro panel color: your primary brand color. |
| Secondary (panel) | Intro panel color: your secondary brand color. |
The intro plays once per session on the public site and never inside the editor preview. Choose None if you want the page to load straight to the photo; Focus in (the default for new sites) is the lightest, since it sharpens an already-visible hero rather than covering it.
Hero photos themselves — which slide shows, focal point, and Create an AI version — live on the Hero tab, not Brand. See Positioning Your Hero Photos.

The arrows beside each swatch move that color one slot up or down — Primary, Secondary, or Page background — so you can reassign where a color appears without copying the hex.
Palette ideas on the brand kit (Host dashboard → Brand → a brand → Brand colors) set the page background with the two brand colors, including dark pages. Sites using that brand pick up the canvas the next time the brand syncs. The booking search bar that floats on the hero stays white on a dark page — it sits on the photo, not on the canvas.
